The government has stepped up efforts to reduce cases of cervical cancer by expanding screening services and increasing access to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine across the country.

‎Health experts say cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in Kenya, despite being preventable through regular screening and vaccination.

‎They are urging women to seek early medical check-ups to enable timely detection and treatment.

‎The Ministry of Health has also intensified awareness campaigns in schools and communities to encourage parents to have their eligible daughters vaccinated against HPV, the virus responsible for most cervical cancer cases.

‎Medical professionals note that advances in science and technology are improving cancer diagnosis and treatment, giving patients a better chance of recovery when the disease is detected early.

‎Authorities are calling on Kenyans to embrace preventive healthcare measures and make use of available screening and vaccination services to help reduce the burden of cervical cancer in the country.
