Qantas to Launch 22-Hour Non-Stop Flights From Sydney to London and New York in 2027

Under its ambitious Project Sunrise, the Australian carrier will operate the world’s longest commercial non-stop passenger flights, connecting Sydney directly to London Heathrow and New York JFK on flights that will stretch up to 22 hours in the air.

The airline confirmed the Sydney–London Heathrow service will begin in October 2027, with tickets going on sale in February 2027. The Sydney–New York route is also locked in, with a launch date still to be announced.

In a game-changing move under Project Sunrise, the Australian airline will connect Sydney directly to London Heathrow and New York JFK, with flight times reaching up to a staggering 22 hours.

Starting in October 2027, travelers will have the opportunity to embark on a seamless journey from Sydney to London Heathrow, with ticket sales opening in February of the same year. The Sydney to New York route is also in the works, promising travelers a direct connection to the Big Apple like never before.
